When is a garden more than a garden? When is journey more important than the plants?
Starting with a blank canvas is the most exciting part of a project, and the most daunting. Sometimes all you have to start with is a patch of dead grass, and the memory of a loved one who used to take care of it. Years of pine needles, pine cones and branches built up on a once lush garden leaving the landscape fabric underneath the new bed for roots to get stuck in.
Sometimes being able to show someone a picture of what can be makes all the difference in showing them how to revitalize their garden!
The beauty of new programs is that it can help you visualize what a space will look like before you ever break ground or order plants!
With a vision in mind, a full plan can be drafted. Measurements need to be taken of the house, front lawn, and any existing trees, to make a plan suitable for a space.
Pulling up rooted landscape fabric is a lot of work, but it can be super rewarding! Edging the new outline of the garden and setting potted plants in place already looks incredible, and breaths new like into this beautiful garden!
After the boulders are placed, and the pots are planted, it's like when the world is waking up from hibernation in the spring; soon the birds will be singing from their branches.
Finally a fresh coat of mulch to make it look vibrant and alive. The bushes will grow, and the hostas will fill in, but the robins have already moved in to their new garden.
